In Alice Springs, in the Todd River and Snow Kenna Park.
The Street Parade starts at the Alice Springs Town Council Lawns, and runs through the Mall to the main site.
The Street Parade commences at 10:30am, and the main gates open at 11:00am. Races start at 11:30am, and the event concludes after the Battle Boat Spectacular, at around 5pm.
Pets are not permitted at the Henley on Todd Regatta, as there are large crowds and lots of noise. Please leave your pets at home. Guide dogs and assistance animals permitted.
Participation in the events is free after purchasing a ticket. Registrations are open and tickets on sale now – head to our website to get your ticket and register. You can also register on the day at the Alice Springs Town Council lawns (the start of the Parade), or at our Registration Tent in the riverbed. Registering in advance will save you time on the day and you will be required to fill out our Indemnity Form.
We don’t need your team names or list of events yet! Come down to the Registration Tent at the start of the day, and you’ll be provided with a list of events. Be sure to keep your ears peeled for the race being announced. The winners of each heat will have their names recorded, and finals participants announced by our cheerful commentators.
Those who have their own boat for the Bring Your Own Boat races are very welcome to join in the parade down Todd Mall. Please make your way to the Alice Springs Town Council in Todd Street from 9.30am and make yourself known to the Rotary Volunteers – identified by their bright yellow “crew” shirts. You are advised to get there early.
No – all vessels and equipment is supplied for competitors, unless you wish to take part in the “BYO Boat” races – you then need to design and supply your own boat for your team of four. What is a BYO boat? A Bring You Own Boat must fully enclose the 4-member crew and must resemble a boat. Construction, size and shape are all open to your imagination.
Most BYO boats are constructed using electrical conduit or plumping pipe as the frame. The boat should be as light as practical and must have no sharp edges in case the crew falls.
Certainly! Head to the Registration Tent, and we will help you find some fellow crew-mates.
Our Battle Boats are run by a crew of trained (un)professionals, so unfortunately we can’t allow the General Public on board. Being on the sidelines is equally as fun and exciting though!
There is no designated parking or bus service for the Henley on Todd Regatta.
We strongly encourage the use of public transport, or riding your bike!

A little water never hurt a river-event! Henley on Todd is a rain-or-shine event, and will only be cancelled if weather is dangerous or the river is flowing. If the event is cancelled, an email notification will be sent to all ticket holders.
A more detailed program will be available closer to the event, but the day will run a little something like this:
